The atelier is where my material practice takes physical form.
Working hands-on with fibre and plant-based colour, I explore how materials respond, absorb, shift and endure. Through experimentation, small-batch production and long-term observation, I investigate the relationship between origin, process and use. I investigate the relationship between origin, process and use — and how these shape material decisions.
This is a space of material research — not driven by trend, but by curiosity, structure and ecological awareness. Each piece emerges from testing, repetition and reflection — forming the basis for more grounded material decisions.
In the atelier,
I work with:
• plant-based dye experiments
• fibre testing and comparison
• colour layering and variation
• small-batch textile pieces
• long-term material behaviour and observation
Material is not treated as surface, but as substance — carrying context, responsibility and potential.
The atelier forms the foundation of my broader material thinking — and informs how materials are understood, selected and applied in real contexts.
